Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this bike HAS to be yours! With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, specific conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance to weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of expertise goes into developing power, performance reduction kits. Essential factors must be considered: on one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and metrological effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes unassuming restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no electronic interventions are required. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
