Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor dealer – this machine HAS to be it! Slight catch: the standard power output is too high for a graduated driving licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restriction kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as emissions, noise and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the greatest possible unchanged preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery.
If all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, there is a high development and measurement effort involved, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Ordinance, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions work by mechanical means; no interventions in the electronics are necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle travel limiters.
