Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, having spotted the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine MUST be it! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for a graduated licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance reduction kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of expertise goes into the development of power reduction. Key factors must be taken into account: on one hand, there are legal regulations, such as emissions, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, there is the desire to maintain optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, the development and measurement effort is considerable, something not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stop limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Ordinance, which came into force in spring 2013, new drivers had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stop limiters.
