Proudly holding your A2 motorcycle licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for the graduated licence. Dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance power reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much know-how goes into the development of power restriction. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, there are legal requirements such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, there is the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a part certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, there is a high development and metrological effort involved, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driver's licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
