With restrictor kits from alpha Technik, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of the power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side is the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance development as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a part certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, the development and measurement effort is considerable, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictors function mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle travel limiters.
