Proudly holding your A2 motorcycledriving licence, you've spotted your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output for the stepped licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performancerestrictions, your motorcycledream immediately becomes a reality!

With restrictor kits from alpha Technik, motorcycles of all power, performanceclasses become more interesting for the motorcyclerider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performancepower-to-weight ratio of 0.2kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of expertise goes into the development of power, performancerestriction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as emissions, noise, and power, performancemeasurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side is the preservation, as far as possible, of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performancepower delivery.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a significant development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel restrictors.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performancerestriction is achieved through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle travel restrictors.
