Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, you've spotted your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for the graduated licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance restrictors, the motorcycle dream instantly becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Key factors must be considered: on one hand, legal requirements such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and measurement efforts, which are not immediately apparent from the sometimes unassuming restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictors operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
