The only hitch: the standard power output for the progressive licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restriction kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Here, essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, legal requirements such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a significant development and metrological effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictors operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
