Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power output for the graduated licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With restrictor kits from alpha Technik, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost every desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of the power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal requirements, such as emission, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
When all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a high development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes unobtrusive restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Ordinance, which came into force in spring 2013, driving licence novices had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its large product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no interventions in the electronics are necessary. The power, performance reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
