Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 motorcycle licence, you’ve spotted your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output for the progressive licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality! With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost every desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 motorcycle licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.
A great deal of expertise goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, statutory regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the aim is to maintain optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, the development and measurement effort is considerable, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stop limiters.
25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, novice riders with 25 kW had to manage for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictors work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or using throttle stop limiters.
