Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power, performance for the progressive licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restrictor kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original output power, performance of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much know-how goes into the development of the power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be considered: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust emission, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the greatest possible unaltered preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery.
Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a high development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
