alpha Technik restrictor kits make motorcycles of all power, performance classes more appealing to motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be restricted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restrictor kits. Essential factors must be considered: on one hand, there are legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, there's the goal of maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
When all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it's a high level of development and measurement effort that isn't immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. alpha Technik offers due to its extensive product range still numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
