With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the A2 motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be restricted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original output power, performance of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restrictor kits. Key factors must be considered: on one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust gas, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directives. On the other hand, maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and measurement efforts, which are not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictors:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years.
