Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 licence, spotted your dream motorbike at the dealer, distributor – this machine MUST be yours! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for the tiered licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance restrictions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorbikes of all power, performance classes become more attractive for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be restricted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be considered here: on the one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust gas, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery, as unchanged as possible. If all requirements are met, a component certificate will be issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and measurement efforts, which are not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle restrictors and throttle stop limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle restrictors in the intake tract, or with throttle stop limiters.
