With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power, performance of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much expertise goes into the development of power, performance restriction kits. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining the optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a part certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and measurement efforts, which are not always apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restriction plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its wide range of products, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is required. The power, performance restriction is achieved through the installation of specially designed restriction plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
