Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for the staged driving licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power restriction kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With restriction kits from alpha Technik, motorcycles of all power classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power output of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, for holders of the current A2 driving licence class, special conditions apply. The power-to-weight ratio of 0.2kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much expertise goes into the development of power reduction kits. Essential factors must be considered: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the largely unchanged preservation of optimal rideability and homogenous power delivery.
Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical inspection body. Until then, there is extensive development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the seemingly inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its wide range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
