Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, having spotted the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! The slight hitch: the standard power output for the graduated licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restrictions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A significant amount of know-how is invested in the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be considered: on one side are legal requirements, such as exhaust emission, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side is the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and measurement efforts, which are not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or using throttle stops.
