Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power output for the stepped licence is too high. Dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performances reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performances weight of 0.2kW/kg and twice the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performances restriction. Key factors must be considered here: on one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the greatest possible preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances development. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves a great deal of development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no electronic interventions are necessary. The power, performances restriction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
