Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! One small catch: the standard power output is too high for the tiered licence. Dream over? Quite the opposite, because with alpha Technik power, performances reductions, the motorcycle dream instantly becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more attractive for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be restricted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence. The power, performances weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Extensive expertise goes into developing power, performances restriction. Here, essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, statutory regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, a considerable amount of development and measurement effort goes into what sometimes appear to be inconspicuous throttle restrictors and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Thanks to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no electronic intervention is required. The power, performances reduction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle travel limiters.
