With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing to motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be restricted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Extensive expertise goes into the development of power, performance restrictor kits. Key factors must be taken into account here: on one hand, legal requirements such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other, the greatest possible preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery.
Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves significant development and metrological effort, which isn't always immediately apparent in the sometimes unassuming restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years.
