Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output for the staged licence is too high. Dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performances restrictions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performances-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of expertise goes into developing power, performances restriction. Here, essential factors must be considered: on one hand, legal requirements such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery, as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves a high level of development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictors operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performances restriction is achieved through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
