Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, having seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine MUST be it! Small catch: the standard power is too high for the progressive driving licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performances reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more appealing to the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current driving licence class A2. The power, performances-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of know-how goes into the development of power reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on the one hand, statutory regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the aim is to maintain optimal rideability and homogeneous power delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, the development and measurement effort is considerable, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence ordinance came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performances reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
