Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 driving licence, you've seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine MUST be it! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for the graduated driving licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restrictions, your motorcycle dream instantly becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be considered here: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance development as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a high development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its large product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no interventions in the electronics are necessary. The power, performance restriction occurs via the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
