Small snag: the standard power output is too high for the progressive access licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance restriction kits, the motorcycle dream instantly becomes reality!

With restriction kits from alpha Technik, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be reduced to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power restriction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, the development and measurement effort is considerable, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restriction plates and throttle stop limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Ordinance, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restriction plates in the intake tract or with throttle stop limiters.
