Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power is too high for the staged licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost every desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power restriction. Here, essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, there are legal regulations, such as emission, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a technical report is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a high development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Ordinance, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its large assortment, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle travel limiters.
