Proudly holding your A2 motorcyclelicence, you've spotted your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for the graduated licence. Is the dream over? With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performanceclasses become more appealing to motorcycleriders, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much expertise goes into the development of power, performancerestriction. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performancemeasurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performancedelivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, significant development and measurement efforts are involved, which are not immediately apparent in the sometimes unassuming restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictors work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performancerestriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
