Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 licence, you've seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power is too high for a graduated licence. Is the dream over? With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the largely unchanged preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery.
When all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a high development and metrological effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restriction plates and throttle restrictors.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. alpha Technik offers due to its extensive product range still numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no electronic intervention is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restriction plates in the intake tract, or with throttle restrictors.
