Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, you've spotted your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! There's a small catch: the standard power output is too high for the graduated driving licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance restrictions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be considered: on one hand, there are legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the aim is to maintain optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and metrological effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its large product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions function mechanically; no electronic interventions are necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
