General Description
The exhaust system in neo-retro style features black-coated, conical twin silencers made from high-quality stainless steel, along with a lightweight titanium link pipe. The design and lines of the exhaust have been specifically developed to integrate into the motorcycle, and the system is equipped with a sandblasted stainless steel heat shield to protect the rider's equipment and a laser-engraved Akrapovič logo on the muffler/silencer for an elegant and sophisticated look. During the development phase, engineers focused on throttle response and rideability. Compared to a BMW R 12 nineT with a stock system, tested on the in-house dynamometer, power, performance increased by 0.9 kW (1.2 hp) and torque by 1.6 Nm, both at 6,200 rpm. The weight reduction compared to the stock system is 10.6%, and the Slip-On Line (SS) delivers a deep and sporty sound that meets type approval for an EC/ECE certificate. This exhaust is a plug-and-play installation that requires no remapping. The exhaust system also fits the BMW R 12 standard version.Optional header pipes for the BMW R12 nineT / R 12 will be available soon.
