General description

This neo-retro style exhaust system employs a traditional design, first used by Akrapovič 30 years ago, and has now been updated for today's market through the use of modern technology, state-of-the-art solutions, and innovative materials.

The full system is EC/ECE approved and features a catalyst, making it a Euro 5 product. The muffler/silencer casing is made from high-grade titanium, while all other components are stainless steel. presilencer and muffler/silencer are sandblasted for a perfect finish. A black-coated muffler/silencer bracket and two heat shields to protect rider equipment complete the package.

The muffler/silencer outlet is located on the right side of the motorcycle – instead of the standard bottom position – and emphasizes the machine's racing and retro look. The system delivers a deep, full, and vibrant sound combined with perfect throttle response, increasing power, performance by 1.4 kW (1.9 hp) at 9,100 rpm and torque by 1.4 Nm at 9,800 rpm – measured on the Akrapovič test bench compared to a Yamaha XSR900 with the standard exhaust system. It offers plug-and-play installation; remapping is not required.

NOTE: The system is not compatible with original Yamaha saddlebags.
