General description

This brand new complete exhaust system for the Yamaha R9 follows the look of Akrapovič exhaust systems for the Yamaha R6, R7, and R1, with a similar design to the Akrapovič exhaust systems used in the Supersport World Championship.

A high-quality, lightweight titanium muffler/silencer outer sleeve and end cap are combined with a stainless steel link pipe, headers, and presilencer.

The presilencer is positioned under the bodywork and is concealed by the lower fairings. The exhaust exits on the right side, providing a racing look. An catalyst is integrated into the system to meet EC/ECE type approval (Euro 5+). The exhaust is supplied with an aluminium muffler/silencer bracket and delivers a deep and sporty sound.

During development, Akrapovič engineers focused on throttle response and power, performance gains in the mid and high speed range. Tests on the Akrapovič dyno, compared to a Yamaha R9 with the standard exhaust system, showed power, performance and torque increases of 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) at 10,000 rpm and 2.6 Nm at 9,500 rpm, respectively. The plug-and-play installation means no mapping is required.
