General Description

The close collaboration between the Akrapovič Racing and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP research and development departments has resulted in an exhaust system that is almost identical to the specifications of the system with which the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team will compete in the 2023 Motocross World Championship season. The tailor-made design fits into the limited space on the motorcycle and is the largest that space allows. This enables improved sound suppression to mitigate the impact on the natural environment, while facilitating an improved exhaust gas flow from the combustion chamber with as few restrictions as possible.

This system is made entirely from lightweight, high-grade titanium alloys and offers a weight saving of 20.4% (0.9 kg) compared to the stock exhaust. Varying wall thicknesses in individual sections ensure perfect protection and reduce overall weight, so that the additional strength achieved through the design provides improved resistance under the most demanding conditions. It offers improved response across the entire speed range, with power, performance and torque increased by an additional 1.8 kW (2.4 hp) at 10,600 rpm and 1.5 Nm at 10,500 rpm in back-to-back tests on the in-house dynamometer compared to a standard stock exhaust system.
