General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, increase bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the Motorsport Team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are located together with a grinding medium specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium, and through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the air chamber height in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
