General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend progressive forksprings to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the "Zero Friction" forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are placed together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the componentupper through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forksprings includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
