General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially, the combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil, as well as observing the correct air gap for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the Motorsport Team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the processing, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfork spring set includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the air gap height in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
