General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring-sport, recommend we generally use a progressive forkfeder to optimise response characteristics and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. Crucially, the combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the demcorrespondinge vehicle, is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, recommend we the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are located together with an abrasive body specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
