General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forköl and the consideration of the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with a grinding medium specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
