The BMC motorcycle Race air filter differs from the standard BMC sports air filter by offering an even higher airflow (up to 60%) without negatively affecting the filter performance. It can be recognised by a yellow stripe on the filter surface. It is recommended to use the BMC Race Air Filter only for motorsport. The race filter must be cleaned more frequently, and for most motorcycles, a new fuel mixture adjustment is required. This is done either by an auxiliary control unit, such as the Power Commander, a new mapping, or a larger jetting of the carburetor.These BMC Race air filter are pre-oiled from the factory and are supplied ready for installation.
