General description

The carbon frame cover is applied directly to the frame. It conceals it and draws attention. But the frame cover is not only visually appealing. Thanks to the high surface quality of Ilmberger Carbon, the frame cover also withstands intense number-plate bracket over a long period. This means there are no unpleasant wear marks on the rough cast upper surface of the frame, neither after countless long tours nor during daily number-plate bracket of the motorcycle. To perfect the high-quality impression, the frame cover not only runs along the vertical frame strut, where the leg rubs, but also extends far upwards, disappearing under the dense side fairing. This makes it difficult to see from the outside where the frame fairing begins and where it ends.

Installed in just a few minutes, the value of the motorcycle is enormously enhanced. To achieve a particularly harmonious overall appearance, the fibre layers are laid and aligned in the mould by experts. This way, the carbon part perfectly conforms to the surrounding shapes of the motorcycle. The more of our parts that are installed and combined, the more impressive the result.

For our carbon, we exclusively use prepreg fabric specially produced for this purpose, which is also used in a similar form in Formula 1 and aerospace. The material, elaborately laminated by hand and cured in several stages in an autoclave, convinces not only with its unique appearance but also with its unique technical properties. For the same volume, it has three times the specific stiffness of steel and, at the same time, due to its particularly low density, only a breakage of its weight. These properties are particularly pronounced in our products due to the high fibre volume content.

To optimally protect this high-quality material from all kinds of environmental influencess, we, as the world's only carbon manufacturer, use a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. In combination with our clear lacquer, this provides an unparalleled and unique depth effect, which highlights the high quality of the material particularly strongly.

To ensure that not only riding but also fitting is a pleasure, we use only the original mounting points for this part.
