Rivet-type master link 428 HGeneral Description
Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with rubber O-rings) that are permanently secured at the factory with a rivet-type master link. A rivet-type master link is always used for high-performance vehicles, and therefore for heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip-type master link, proper, permanent, and inseparable riveting is the safer option.All ENUMA® o-ring and Quadra-X-Ring chains designed for high-performance motorcycles also include the precisely matching rivet-type master link.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet-type master links available on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are splayed out with a drift pin after the outer plate is applied for securing, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After proper and professional riveting of the master link's solid rivet pins, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chain plates.
ENUMA® DEX chains are exclusively supplied with hollow rivet master links. All other chains include solid rivet master links.
