Rivet link 525 HGeneral description
Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, and therefore for heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper permanent insoluble riveting is the safer option.All ENUMA® o-ring and Quadra-X-Ring chains, which are intended for high-performance motorcycles, also include the precisely matching rivet link for the chain in the scope of delivery.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market - with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are spread with a mandrel after fitting the outer plate for securing, the tool simply flattens the head for solid rivet pins. After proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference to the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are exclusively supplied with hollow rivet links. All other chains contain solid rivet links.
