Rivet link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) that are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, and thus for highly stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper permanent insoluble riveting is the safer option.
Note on rivet links:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting for both types!
While hollow rivet pins are spread with a drift after the outer plate is fitted for security, the tool simply flattens the head for solid rivet pins. After the proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer notice any difference from the surrounding chain links.
