Rivet Link: Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used on high-performance vehicles, thus on heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper, permanent, and insoluble riveting is the safer option.Note on Rivet Links: There are two different versions of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting of both types! While hollow rivet pins are spread open with a punch after fitting the outer plate for securing, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After the proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference to the surrounding chain links.
