General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise response and increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, and adhering to the correct air chamber for the demcorrespondinge vehicle, is crucial. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.

For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfedern, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:

During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with an abrasive media specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.

The vibrations of the container create a relative motion between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche through constant rubbing. The result of the processing is a fine, shiny surface.

For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.


Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
