Riveting link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings), which are permanently and securely closed at the factory with a riveting link. A riveting link is always used for high-performance vehicles, meaning heavily stressed and fast-running chainn. In contrast to the clip link mentioned above, a proper, permanent, non-detachable riveting is the safer option.
Note on riveting links:
There are two different types of riveting links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are splayed out with a punch after the outer plate is fitted for security, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After the solid rivet pins of the master link have been properly and professionally riveted, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chainngliedern.
