Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (non-sealed or sealed with rubber rings), which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, and thus for heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip-type link, proper permanent insoluble riveting is the safer option.All ENUMA® o-ring and Quadra-X-Ring chains, intended for high-performance motorcycles, also include the precisely matching rivet link for the chain.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for the proper riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are flared out with a punch after the outer plate is fitted for secure fastening, the tool simply flattens the head for solid rivet pins. After the proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the connecting link, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are supplied exclusively with hollow rivet links. All other chains include solid rivet links.
