Rivet link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with rubber rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, and thus for heavily stressed and fast-running chainn. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper permanent insoluble riveting is the safer option.
Note on rivet links:
There are two different versions of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are spread open with a punch after fitting the outer plate for securing, the tool simply flattens the head for solid rivet pins. After the correct and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chainngliedern.
