Akrapovič crash bars made of sandblasted, lightweight titanium for BMW R 1250 GS from model year 2019
It is the first product of its kind from Akrapovič. It is made of sandblasted, lightweight titanium, fully leveraging the company's expertise in titanium technology. It has been developed from scratch, offering a weight saving of around 40% compared to comparable steel versions, as well as high strength and corrosion resistance.
The tubes are precisely TIG-welded and feature laser-cut and finely machined 8 mm flanges to ensure a perfect fit and strength. They perfectly match the bike's existing components and offer the option to attach additional bags, fog lights or auxiliary lights to the brackets.
The upper crash bar weighs only 2.38 kg, the lower one 3.88 kg, and both do not restrict the lean angle. The highly stable construction, comprehensively evaluated through numerous tests and deformation analyses, is partially connected to the frame to distribute any impacts across the tubes. The product features an engraved logo and the word Titanium to highlight the important product characteristic.
Installation note: The upper crash bar set does not fit the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure model, but the lower one does.
