Electronic restriction to 35 kW for motorcycles from Euro 5:
With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be restricted to the required power, performance of 35kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2kW/kg and double the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

Extensive know-how is invested in the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, statutory regulations such as exhaust gas, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.

From the outset, alpha Technik has shaped the development of power, performance modifications for new Euro 5 vehicles according to currently valid guidelines. Since the launch of the protected MCR restriction modules in 2016, we have offered you and your customers reliable, high-level technology at an affordable price.

The latest version makes restriction for 'ride-by-wire' vehicles even simpler, faster, and more convenient. These vehicles can now be restricted to 35 kW with absolute operational safety without the previously used additional throttle plates (*). The newly developed control technology of the modules ensures the correct gas-to-air ratio at all times.

The redundancy required by law is, of course, met, as is electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Workshop time for installing the restriction is significantly reduced; installation is faster and very easy to achieve.
A major advantage of the MCR restriction for bikers remains the complete number-plate bracket of the rotation angle at the throttle twist grip – every movement towards full throttle provides propulsion!

With the introduction of component type approval in 2025 and the discontinuation of component certificates from 2028, alpha Technik is already implementing the new, stricter approval procedure. Not only are new developments being made to the required level of component type approval, but existing component certificates are also being brought up to the level of component type approval.

(*) For Euro 5 vehicles with conventional throttle cables to the throttle bodies, the additional throttle plates remain an indispensable component for correct mixture composition – this prevents leaning out with reduced gas supply but fully open throttle bodies.
